A portrait of Auguste Rodin, drawn in response to visiting the Musee Rodin in Paris, in November 2018. I chose a source photo of an older Rodin, less concerned about appearances, and in his prime. The yellow felt youthful and energetic, which is the energy I felt is happening within the great artist’s mind, even if his body has become older and weaker. The splatter in the lower third to represent the messiness of the artist’s studio.

This piece was created on ivory-colored, 165 g/m², acid-free paper, with a Staedtler Pigment Liner pen and Higgins fadeproof, pigmented drawing ink in yellow.

This print is offered at 5” x 7”, and printed using Simitri HD plant-based polymerized toner on a heavy weight, 120 lb., Accent archival card stock.

Each print is hand-signed on the front at the time of purchase, and stamped on the back as a mark of authenticity.
